Research on Nonviolent Communication training indicates that it takes approximately 30 hours of Nonviolent Communication training to begin to authentically incorporate the basic tools with skill. Like any new language, some come to the method with other related skills, or no experience at all, making the learning the skills easier, or maybe a bit tougher.

Freedom Project recommends a minimum of 30 hours of training to begin to consider having solid skills in the process. NVC Immersion Workshops offer 25 hours of NVC training over a 5-Day period, generally Monday through Friday from 9:00 am- 5:00 pm.

Please email nvc@freedom-project.org for a full list of currently Immersion Trainings for 2010-2011.

Cost is $300.00. The training is a good basic introduction to Nonviolent Communication. It reviews the basic tenants of NVC:
  • observations
  • feelings
  • needs
  • requests
The symbols used (Giraffe and Jackal), how empathy and self-empathy is considered in NVC. How to make requests that will improve the chances of your getting what you need.

All Immersion Trainings are located at the Freedom Project in Seattle, WA 98103
